Hey peoples. I haven`t written in a while, so I just wanted to do a quick check in, although I haven`t got much time before my next class. So:
I`m now living with my temporary host family, in Otsu. They`re incredibly kind people- you know, the kind that would spoil you rotten if you let them. Their house (well, houses, actually) is gorgeous, and located right on Lake Biwa. Everyday my host dad DRIVES me to school. That`s, like, unheard of in Japan. My next host family has me biking to school, and the ones after have me on buses and trains and stuff. But yeah, they`ve been taking good care of me, and I think the next 2 weeks are going to be just fine. I am, however, really looking forward to my next host family, partly because right now I`m living out of my suitcase again, and partly because they`re middle class. I miss middle class. It feels a bit awkward to be around so much money. Is that weird? Hm, I dunno. Moving on-
My Japanese is at a stalling point again. I HATE that. It`s like one day you`ll feel perfectly fluent, and the next nothing makes sense. I can understand a lot, but I can`t speak very well. Japanese grammar is killing me!!! What`s happening a lot now is that I`ll be able to understand all of the words in a sentence, but I`ll have no clue as to why they`re ordered in that way or what it means. My Japanese actually improved a lot over the Hiroshima trip, but now it`s suddenly gotten really hard again. Apparently this means I`m getting better, but sometimes all I want to do is slam on my headphones and shut out all the noise! I`m tired of only being able to say and understand simple things. RAWR. Frustration.
So yeah. School is going alright. I`m very tired most of the time right now because of the host family change, Hiroshima, and Japanese deciding to attack my brain. It`s also been very gray and rainy for the past week. And now it`s time for math.
Love ya`ll, talk to ya later!
Jaa, ne~
