I've got a spare moment, so-

Today, I used a bit of my free time to read over some past blog/journal entries My God. My English spelling is getting pathetic. And I often write things that would make sense in Japanese grammar, but in English sound awkward. On countless occasions I have written r's as l's and spelled things phonetically instead of correctly.

And to top it all off? I am no longer clueless when I look at kanji anymore. I can actually read some. And I've started writing in it just a bit. For example, I no longer write the word "child" or "kid". I use the kanji 子 because it is faster and saves space, and I can read it just as well. This is not to say I understand anything near what would be called fluent- far from it- but it's interesting to watch how I'm incorporating these bits of Japanese into my language without really noticing. And slightly terrifying. One can only guess at the pain my brain is going to have to go through when I take AP English IV next year. I can already see the look on my teacher's face when I get back an essay that I unintentionally use kanji on.

O.o

Good night! Jaa ne!
