June?

I forgot to mention to you all that I've moved to my last host family, the Inoue's. I love it here. Firstly, my room has a screen door (leading to a porch) and window, so I leave them open all the time and have a constant supply of fresh air. It's also just a nice room anyways, and has tatami mats, which I love. My host family is great, and I love having so many people here (5). Having a big family, small family, family with kids, grandparents, etc- all of that plays quite a role in your exchange!

However, I've been incredibly stressed this past week or so. Some things happened at school that are a bit too personal to mention here, but nonetheless have been difficult. Part of it stems from the fact that I'm leaving so soon, but there's a lot more to it as well. Just wish me luck and such, and hopefully it will get better soon ^-^

And in other news, my dad is coming to visit! It should be fun.

I keep really wanting to write in Japanese on this thing, so I apologize for being brief. My brain's a bit jumbled. It's really strange how I think now- I have my translator running 24/7, so I occasionally think in both languages at the same time. Very odd, indeed.

Talk to you all later :)

  1. Aw, I hope everything works out for you soon. :( But I'm glad that you have such a nice host family (and home, if you ask me)! I've been reading your blog and you mentioned how Rotary supplies you with 3 host families. Are all of these host families in the same general area, or do you move quite a bit between them? May I ask what region you are in now (and the weather)? Just curious. :)

  2. Thanks for your concern ^-^ Things are looking up, so that's nice!

Depending on your district you can get anywhere from 2 to 8 host families, it varies a lot. But because you have to go to the same school, they're all pretty much in the same general area. It shouldn't take you more than an hour or 2 to get to school everyday! I've lived in 3 different cities in Japan, but they're all next to each other and the houses are at most an hour apart. But that's just me.

And you should read the blog title to figure out where I am :P I'm in the area directly next to Kyoto, on the east. And the weather is hot :)
