Here's a few more random stories just for fun :)
One:
I was eating dinner with my host mom, and like usual we were watching the news (thank God for pictures ^o^). I was hearing for about the 50 billionth time about Tiger and his escapades when suddenly SPLASH! My host mom spilled soup all over her shirt. This wasn't really amusing; in fact I was sorta worried that she burned herself. The amusing part was that she just sat for a second, then slowly reached for a napkin while saying, "O...... M..... G!" in the most long, drawn out, epic 'omg' I have ever heard. I didn't want to laugh- I've gotten quite good at repressing laughs when something Japanese strikes me as hilarious- so I didn't, but that doesn't mean I didn't freeze up with the effort it took to not do so. I'm sure I looked just fabulous, my face frozen in complete dumbfoundedness while my host mom tried to wipe away all the soup. But she's fine, so it's all good :D
Two:
I dunno how many of ya'll have seen my pictures on facebook, but if you did, you probably saw one of the guys in my math class who really liked posing for the camera. His name is Daishun, and he is ridiculous times 20 XD
Anywho, he recently got a girlfriend, and so I see her every now and then in the classroom. Today, she stopped in for a visit right before class. After she left, Daishun looked at he with the "I have an evil plan" look. I was like, "Oh great, what's Mr. Ridiculous up to now?" Well, about halfway through class, he turned to me and said, "Teririsa (he cannot get my name right for the life of him, nor has he ever tried to despite my multiple attempts XD), what do you want for Christmas?" I was quite flattered! I said gloves and the new Zelda DS game (hinthint ^-^), and he was like, "Oh cool!" and gave me a thumbs up. I was thinking, hm, maybe I might be getting some new gloves for Christmas from him? No. He turned to his friend and said, "Hey, dude, I know what to get my girlfriend for Christmas now!" ANGRY FACE. I was used. I smacked him, of course, and he cracked up. I told him I highly disapproved of his methods (aka I used my sad Japanese to call him mean), and then advised him to get a necklace for her. His girlfriend is really sweet, and he better get a good present for her!!!
Three:
So the other day I went to karaoke with Daishun and the other guy who really liked posing for the camera, Kojiro. We were getting ready to go when we realized that there were three of us and only one bike. What to do? In Japan, it's really common for two people to ride on a bike together- one person sits on the seat, and the other on the little platform behind the seat that's supposed to be for luggage. But three people? Apparently it's been done before, but I was like, "No effing way am I riding that with 3 people, because I will fall off in about 3 seconds, thank you very much." They decided that that was probably a good idea (thank GOD), but that still left us in the dilemma of how to get all of us to the place. Then Kojiro, nicest person ever, offered to run while me and Daishun biked. And we were off!
It was the most amusing transport session I have ever been in XD Firstly, I was practically crying while trying to hold onto the bike for dear life while Daishun was standing up while riding. I was like, "Get down, you're gonna fall!!", but of course I accidentally said this in English, and he just laughed quizzically. Secondly was Kojiro- poor, poor Kojiro. He was running hard and Daishun was saying all sorts of smart ass things while I yelled encouragement (in Japanese, because there's no way I'm going to forget how to say "Do your best!" in Japanese no matter how terrified I am, because people say it to me everyday). But he made it! It had to be a mile at least. I would have been, like, completely KO'ed, but he was alright O.o And of course, the whole way people were staring left and right because, hey, how often do you get to see a terrified foreigner glued to the back bike seat of a normal Japanese high schooler while his best friend is running alongside? Chyeah.
Those are my stories for now :) And regarding the school issue I talked about last post- I'm working through it. First of all, I'm currently looking for an orchestra in the area to join with the help of another exchanger and my violin teacher. Secondly, I still haven't decided whether or not to change classes, but, well, I'm closer to a decision than I was two days ago.
Also, I need pictures! You people on facebook, please do me a huge favor!!! I need Christmas (or whatever your celebration is) pics for my presentation next week. A picture of your tree, house, family, anything holiday-related and American is good. This especially goes out to my family because I really do need pictures of my own family celebrating the holidays to show, but all are fantastically and super fabulously appreciated :)
Talk to ya'lls later, and I hope many of you go out and see Princess and the Frog, because (I don't care how kiddy it's supposed to be) I really want to see it and movies here are just too effing expensive!! 18 bucks for one ticket T_T Although I am definitely seeing Avatar with Susan when it comes out... hehe, enough movie fanaticism.
