This isn't going to be a long post, but I simply HAD to write it down. Here you are:
Today I was trying to give my sister a Spanish lesson- just some basics, like "My name is" and "How are you?" I was sitting in the car saying the things really slowly in Spanish so she could get the pronunciation right, and she bust out laughing. I put on my really-confused-"is this something Japanese that I don't know about yet?" face, and she said, "I already know how to say that!" Surprised, I said, "Oh, so you took Spanish?" She laughed again and said, "You were speaking Japanese!" I was like, "Huh?" and tried to speak Spanish. It was an absolute fail. Every time I tried to say something in Spanish, it came out in Japanese. In order to speak Spanish, I had to literally sit there, scrunch up my face in concentration, and say everything one sy. lla. ble. at a time.
One can only hope this will not be the situation when I have to take Spanish next year, but I have an eerie feeling it will be... Oh dear O.O

Well, that NEVER happens to me :)
ReplyDeleteIt happens to me ALL the time. Yet another genetic flaw owed to dear old dad. Sorry about that.
