So my Rotary Rep finally sent me the much awaited email with my placement in it. Guess where I'm going (if the blog title hasn't clued you in)?

It's beautiful there. Sooooooo beautiful...
From what I've heard it's a really good place to spend the year, but I'm worried about one thing: language. Kyoto-ians speak a different dialect than the "normal" Japanese. It's very formal and soft-spoken, because apparently Kyoto is known for its high class and reserved ways. Which is sorta cool :) But, what if I won't understand normal Japanese when I get back?!?!? Uhhhh..... Hopefully, I will, though. It doesn't sound TOO different, but you never know...
